Answering Machine Etiquette....

If there's one thing that gets me cheesed off, it's people who insist on leaving long-winded, detailed, loquacious, convoluted messages on answering machines. If someone has something to tell me, they should just say they have something to tell me and tell me when I talk to them. I used to have this annoying friend who would call 5 or 6 times in a row to tell some long, boring story. Often I'd get her message when I was tired or in a hurry so I never really listened to it that thoroughly...

Another thing that bothers me is when people mumble or talk too fast. I hate it when someone leaves a long message and rattles off the phone number so quickly I have to listen to the whole message over again, sometimes several times to understand what the number was.
